Operation Cleffa still in motion; commence Operation Breeding Program?

hnng, i'm so nerdy it hurts.

i found a formula for determining a pokemon's individual worth (IV). this pretty much tells what kind of stats it has, in comparison to others of its species as well as other pokemon in general. the IV is used in generating the pokemon's gender and likelihood of being shiny.

the IV ranges from numbers 0 to 31. while actual stats will soar well beyond that, these are more of ratings. unless the species is all one gender (such as latios or jynx) or genderless (beldum, deoxys), then the attack stat us used to determine gender. for example--species A has a pre-set number for determining gender based off of attack stat: 8. a specific individual's attack is equivalent to 5; therefore, the game will generate it as a female. a different individual's attack stat is 8; this one is guaranteed to be a male. due to these calculations, it is impossible to capture a female with a high attack stat, unless it is a member of an all-female species such as smoochum or jynx.

All stats are taken into account when determining an individual's likelihood of being generated as a shiny pokemon. to achieve this status, the individual's defense, speed, and special stats must all be set at a ratng of ten; the attack stat may be set at 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, or 15. however, the likelihood of this lineup occuring is 1 out of 8192, the present day odds.

when nintendo hit generation three, they overhauled the system with the introduction of natures, which adds or subtracts ten percent of various stats as well as affecting the pokemon's ability(s) as it evolves (especially if you trade it to a newer game with more abilities). at this poitn the IV system was bumped up from 1-15 to 0-31, as previously used, which is the reason that you cannot trade pokemon from a generation two game to a generation three game, and vice-versa. the game simply would not know what to do with the pokemon.

Commence Operation Cleffa.

so i reorganized my pokemon cards today, as i always do once or twice a year.

kinda put me in a pokenerd-ish mood, but .... well, i don't have a whole lot of SERIOUS pokemon fans to chat with, or any means of contacting them anyways. also, i realized i didn't have much to do. even checking out the pokemon official website wasn't that interesting.

i think i'm just craving a little extra pokemon kick right about now.

maybe i should just go memorize some more crap or something? or make some tables. i really just don't know, something pokemon-ish (not counting the games) ....

i think if i ever have children, i'm going to give them a cleffa or pikachu-based wardrobe, and smother them in pokemon. ugh.

i ate a pencil sharpener.

for you artists out there (or artist, i should say), i'd like to say that i finished my artists' trading cards. there's only four since i screwed up on the fifth one, but they're pretty good, i daresay.

other than that, i attended a steampunk convention with said artists, and .... well, that's all.

so not much to say right about now. joy.
